Sibling DNA Test (Mobile – We Come to You!)
The Sibling DNA Test helps determine whether two individuals share one or both biological parents. This test can distinguish between full siblings (same mother and father) and half-siblings and is often used when a parent is unavailable or unwilling to participate but the family still needs clear, science-based answers. Testing can be performed with just the two potential siblings, or a known parent can be added to strengthen accuracy.
Onset DNA offers mobile sibling DNA testing in Houston and the surrounding areas. A trained collector comes to your home, office, or attorney’s office and collects quick, painless buccal (cheek) swabs from each participant, no needles and no downtime. Samples are then sent to our accredited laboratory partner, and results are typically available within 4–7 business days, depending on lab volume.

Results: Usually ready in 4–7 business days

Minors & Legal Consent
For any Sibling DNA Test involving a minor (under 18), a legal parent, legal guardian, or court-appointed representative must authorize testing. Other relatives (such as grandparents or partners) may only consent if they have legal authority (for example, a court order or guardianship papers). Onset DNA may request the child’s birth certificate, photo ID for the consenting parent/guardian, and any relevant court, guardianship, or CPS documents. If proper consent or documentation is not provided, Onset DNA may decline or delay testing to protect the rights and safety of the minor.
Booking & Preparation
Booking is simple: complete your payment, then watch for an email with your registration and appointment instructions. Please have a valid photo ID (and any required legal documents) ready at your appointment. For best results, rinse your mouth with water about 30 minutes before collection and avoid eating, drinking, smoking, gum, mouthwash, or toothpaste for at least 30 minutes beforehand. These steps help ensure clean DNA samples and reliable sibling DNA results.
